The Pasil Fisherfolk Association has built a livelihood within the sea walls of their community, offering bamboo cottages and food to locals and visitors looking for a nearby beach getaway. The mangroves are the main foundation of the bamboo cottages, and they primarily protect the housing community and the livelihood from the impact of winds and tides during typhoon or monsoon rainfall.

The mangrove planting operation was a success, and over 1,000 mangrove seedlings were planted. The seedlings were planted in an area that was previously damaged by a typhoon. The mangroves will help to protect the area from future typhoons and erosion.

CAPGEM is committed to supporting the Pasil Fisherfolk Association and other communities in need. The mangrove planting operation is just one example of CAPGEM’s commitment to social responsibility.
